Overview

The Study Process - Reporting

The outputs of the studies should:

  • be provided at a level of detail that enables the different players to contribute to the debate and make their decisions in a fully informed manner; and
  • should set out the conclusions in a clear and logical manner without over-burdening the reader with information.

Key Entry Points:

Introductory Material

An Introduction to Transport Analysis, (TAG Unit 1.1) provides an introduction to the principles of transport appraisal.

Guidance for the Project Manager

The Overall Approach: Steps in the Process (TAG Unit 2.1) presents a flow diagram applicable to a range of transport studies that involve appraisal. Reporting takes place near the end of the process, but before funding sources and an implementation programme are identified.

For advice on reporting requirements for certain plans and programmes see also Strategic Environmental Assessment for Transport Plans and Programmes (TAG Unit 2.11). In such cases a draft plan/programme must be published and accompanied by an Environmental Report.

Guidance for the Expert

Reporting requirements for the appraisal of each objective are set out in the detailed advice for each objective.

A full list of TAG Units is available on the Documents page.
