Model Reports
IVA Trailer Brake Model Report Procedure
VOSA has approved the use of Model Reports for heavy trailer braking systems. This allows trailer manufacturers who use the IVA scheme to forgo the expense of full dynamic brake approval testing. An authorised Technical Service will evaluate the trailer and conduct system reaction time and energy consumption tests. Results, calculations and data will be used by VOSA to create a Model Report on a precedent trailer on the basis of which subsequent trailers will be assessed. This process can also be used for a “one off” approval for a single trailer where an IVA Model Report is not required.
The document below outlines the Trailer Brake Model Report procedure under the IVA scheme.

IVA/SVA Model Reports for Passenger and Light Goods Vehicles
Below are two lists of vehicles, one for Enhanced Single Vehicle Approval (ESVA) and one for Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA), whereby Model Reports have been created for different areas of compliance. The independent companies who have given VOSA permission to list their reports and contact details are indicated. For more detailed information on the reports, contact the owners. These lists will be updated periodically.
