To help improve the work we do, road standards and environmental standards, the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency undertakes a variety of research projects.

Below are a selection of current or archived research papers that have been produced or commissioned by VOSA.

CITA General Questionnaire
CITA sends out questionnaires to its members to collect information on vehicle inspection related issues such as brake testing, quality assurance and emission testing.

Low emission diesel research
Published in February 2005, this research paper forms the third phase of a study into improving diesel emission quality, which includes an examination of how to enhance VOSA?s diesel emissions test.

Headlamp aim research project Adobe PDF Document
Published in July 2004, this research project examined the causes behind vehicles failing the headlamp aim test.
