24-02-06 MOT Computerisation Update

MOT Computerisation continues to go from strength to strength with the news that the system has passed another major milestone. A testing station based in Mansfield, completed the 10 millionth Computerised MOT test at 10.04am on the 1 February 2006.

There are now approaching 12 million MOT records on the database and this figure is increasing by over 100,000 tests every day. 8.5m new style MOT Certificates are in issue. The highest number of tests in a day so far so far was on 20 February when 122,274 tests took place.

Currently there are around 18,000 garages live on MOT Computerisation and the few remaining garages should be live with the new system during March 2006.
