01-09-05 Update to MOT Testing Guide and Inspection Manual
This part of the site includes additional information for Automated Test lanes (ATL). It contains amended pages for:
• The Car and Light Commercial Inspection Manual;
• MOT Testing Guide.
These pages will be produced for the Inspection Manuals and Guides during September. Reference should also be made to Special Notice 07-05
if you wish to install an ATL. This applies whether you are an existing Vehicle Testing Station or a new applicant.
The following pages are for:
The Inspection Manual pages which reflect the procedures to follow when using an authorised ATL. The main changes are to the following sections:

The Testing Guide pages which reflect the MOT Scheme administration changes affected by ATL. The main changes are to the following sections:

• Appendix 8 Disciplinary points
For those who are already using the MOT Computerisation VTS Device the pages on the system are due to be amended at the end of September.
