Standards
Testing standards will remain unchanged.
Vehicle tests will continue to be performed by trained and qualified VOSA examiners. As with Designated Premises, testing at an ATF will not be authorised until VOSA is satisfied that the site can provide the adequate testing facilities. There are a number of ways to ensure that testing at VOSA and non-VOSA sites are carried out to the exact same standards and these include:
- A complete separation of testing and maintenance / repairs; no VOSA examiners will take part in vehicle maintenance or repairs
- Regular quality checks and audits
- Ongoing monitoring of performance
- Organisation wide compliance with the civil service code of conduct.
