In service exhaust emissions standards for road vehicles
BACKGROUND
Updating the booklet would require slight amendment to Schedule 7Bof the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986 to refer to the Sixteenth Edition. The updated booklet would become effective on the 1 August 2010. In accordance with European Directive 96/96EC, emissions requirements in the booklet are based on information provided by manufacturers, where available, and are model specific.
PURPOSE OF THE UPDATES
The aims of these changes are to:
• include requirements for models which have come onto the market since the publication of the previous edition in August 2009
• revise information on a small number of existing models to reduce the risk of erroneous test failures
