Recreational Craft Directive
The new Recreational Craft Directive 2013/53/EU, repealing 94/25/EC, came into effect on the 18th of January 2016. From 18 January 2017 onwards, only products compliant and tested according to the new directive 2013/53/EU will be accepted.
What does this mean for you?
If you are in the recreational craft business and you want to sell products into the European Union, you need to understand how this directive affects you. Compliance with the latest noise and exhaust emissions standards is mandatory, with the exception of exhaust emissions for spark ignition engines <15kW, in which case the stage I limits apply until 17th January 2020.
