Climate Change is recognised as one of the greatest environmental threats facing the World today and it has long been appreciated by governments that reducing the impact of the motor vehicle has an important part to play in addressing this threat.
VCA has developed databases listing most of the cars and new vans* available for sale in the UK. The purpose of this website is to:
The Car fuel data, CO2 and vehicle tax tools provide details of the fuel consumption, exhaust pollution levels and noise levels of most new cars on sale in the UK, and there is also the option to download the content of the database for those wishing to evaluate the data further. In addition, visitors to the site can use the data to calculate the likely cost of Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) on a car - or any other type of vehicle they may be thinking about buying. Use the car fuel data, CO2 and vehicle tax toolsThe van database also provides details of the fuel consumption, and CO2 emissions of most new light goods vehicles on sale in the UK. By light goods vehicle we mean vans, pickups and 4x4s with a gross vehicle weight below 3.5 tonnes. Visitors to the site can filter the data by the type of vehicle of interest - medium sized vans for example, vehicle weights and load length. Again, there is also the option to download the content of the database for further evaluation (page opens in a new browser window).
The Vehicle Certification Agency is committed to providing the highest level of service and as such would welcome comments on the usefulness of our databases, together with any suggestions for improvement. Comments can be e-mailed to fuel@vca.gov.uk or in writing to our Bristol address. *By Used Cars, we mean those models that were previously available for sale, from 2001 onwards. *By New Vans, we mean current year models available for purchase. Only those currently available for sale will be listed on the website. At this time, VCA are unable to provide data for previous years (pre-2009).
