Exemption Application Outcomes
This page includes comprehensive information regarding all exemption applications, including those which have been rejected. Clicking on the title of individual Exemption Orders below will take you to a dedicated page detailing the original application letter, responses from bodies that have been consulted and the final outcome of the application.
Since March 2004, it has been a requirement to present an Explanatory Memorandum to the House of Lords' Select Committee on the Merits of Statutory Instruments (www.parliament.uk/parliamentary_committees/merits.cfm) on all individual Exemption Orders which are granted. The Memoranda include information relating to all stages of the application from the reasons an exemption has been sought, how this contravenes the accessibility regulations, the proposed period of exemption, advice received as a result of consultation and the final decision. Where available, these documents can be accessed through the individual links below.
A summary list of all Exemption Orders which have been granted is also available.
