Small Schemes Funding

The Access for All funding is a key part of the Government's strategy to improve the accessibility of Great Britain's railway. This funding is specifically targeted at providing infrastructure improvements at stations which will enable more disabled people to access the rail network.

We are interested in receiving applications for innovative or locally focused solutions to access problems. We are also seeking applications which demonstrate improving integrated accessible transport solutions. The maximum amount of funding available is £250k per scheme up to a maximum of 50% of the total scheme costs. This funding is only available for projects which have reached a credible stage in development having completed all appropriate feasibility studies and after identification of other funding sources. Each scheme may contain works at multiple stations. This application process only applies to stations in England and Wales owned by Network Rail. It does not apply to stations in Scotland or Northern Ireland. For information regarding Scottish stations, please contact Transport Scotland.

The following station usage data is from data compiled for and published by ORR. Station usage data consists of estimates of the total numbers of people entering, exiting and interchanging at stations. The latest station usage information is based on ticket sales in the financial year 2007-08 and covers all National Rail stations throughout England, Scotland and Wales.
