Disability Rights Task Force (DRTF)
The Disability Rights Task Force (DRTF) was set up in 1997 to advise how best to deliver the Government's manifesto commitment to secure comprehensive and enforceable civil rights for disabled people. In particular it looked at the full range of issues that affected disabled people's lives and was asked to advise the Government on what further action should be taken. The Disability Discrimination Act 2005 implements many of the accepted recommendations.
