Disability Rights Task Force (DRTF)

The DRTF was set up in 1997 to advise how best to deliver the Government's manifesto commitment to secure comprehensive and enforceable civil rights for disabled people.

Disability Discrimination Act 2005

The Disability Discrimination Bill received Royal Assent on 7 April 2005 to become the Disability Discrimination Act 2005.

Part 3

Part 3 of the Disability Discrimination Act gives disabled people a "right of access" to goods, services and facilities.

Part 5

Part 5 of the Disability Discrimination Act enables the Government to make regulations requiring all new land based pubic transport vehicles to be /accessible to disabled people, including those who need to remain in their wheelchairs.
