The Department for Transport (DfT) appointed an independent consultant, Rob Smith, to conduct a short strategic review of the Scheme between May and September 2007. The review findings and initial DfT response to the review are available below (see below).

The DfT is now consulting on this response to help inform the development of a Comprehensive Blue Badge Reform Strategy, which is currently scheduled for publication in spring 2008.
