MR04 - Positioning products in the information marketplace (UG432C)
This project involved a consultation with service providers to ascertain their understanding of their product position in the information marketplace, and intended future developments, followed by consultation with members of the public regarding their level of experience of using the existing information services. It considered public understanding of, and opinion regarding, different currently existing information services.
It also focused upon the potential usage of Transport Direct, both in terms of demand for the service and what it will be used for, as well as the characteristics and features that Transport Direct should include in order to ensure that the needs of users are taken into account in its development.

Phase 2 (MR07-08)
With the first version of the Portal now up and running, our research will focus on traveller demand for new services. The findings from this research will set the priorities for new Portal services and inform the agenda for the Portal's research and development programme.
MR07 - Incorporating cost, reliability and other travel factors into journey planning
The aim of this project is to better understand what travellers would like from the next generation of journey planners.
- The first work package will include a logical framework for representing travel factors and decision rules in an idealised journey planner. Work package 1 (PDF, 229kb)
- The second work package aims to gain a clearer indication from the public about the weightings of various travel factors. Work package 2 (PDF, 634kb)
- The third work package will mock up representations for priority travel factors, which will then be tested on the public. Work package 3 (PDF, 396kb)
