Real time information group (RTIG)
The Real Time Information Group (RTIG) is a forum comprised of representatives from the differing arenas within bus RTI including; RTI system suppliers, bus operators, Local Authorities, DfT, Scottish Executive and Welsh Assembly Government.
RTIG is the central focus point for those involved in bus RTI. It allows the members to act as a group to influence policy and solve interoperability, technical and integration issues. It also allows them to act as a group; e.g. to bid for radio spectrum, which the individual members would find difficult on their own, or to influence European standards.
Through support provided by Transport Direct, RTIG has grown in membership and status to a point where it evolved from an informal organisation, to one with formal status from 1st April 2004. Transport Direct is an affiliate member of the new RTIG: www.rtig.org.uk.
