Real-time information systems for buses
Work is underway to develop communication protocols that are built around inputs from TransXChange and the work developed through the European Trident project, as well as standards already established through the German VDV organisation. Collaboration is taking place with Inform Norden, too, which brings a Scandinavian dimension to this work. The work, undertaken under the auspices of CEN's public transport committee, draws on the UK's experience through representatives of the British Real-Time Information Group (RTIG). A series of European Standards are being developed under the project name of SIRI (Standard Interface for Real-time Information).
