National Public Transport Gazetteer
Work has been underway across Great Britain to develop a uniform National Public Transport Gazetteer of localities that can be used with transport information systems. This covers everything from cities to hamlets, each geo-coded and associated with its relevant administrative areas. With each entry in the NaPTAN database also linked to a locality in the NPTG, the two databases together provide a powerful way of referencing and locating public transport interests.
