European and International Standards Work
Transport Direct is involved in both the CEN and ISO Committees handling Public Transport Standards. In CEN a member of the Transport Direct team is the chairman of the sub-group responsible for Transmodel, and also chairs a group developing the IFOPT Standard (closely linked to NaPTAN and NPTG). Work on SIRI (for real-time information) is also strongly influenced by UK work in RTIG. The Transmodel work is also of interest in the International Standards Organisation, as is the IFOPT work, although there is no formal work item on these topics in ISO at present.
