Biofuel legislation
Biofuel regulation in the UK is currently principally covered by the Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation (RTFO) Order which came into force in 2007. An amended version of the Order is expected to implement the EC’s Renewable Energy Directive (RED) in the UK. The amendment is expected to be made in the second half of 2011. Consultation on the implementation of the RED and FQD is currently open and will run until 2 June 2011.
