The National Transport Casework (NTC) carries out a range of transport casework for the Secretary of State for Transport. The applications and orders cover a wide range of transport functions and fall under a range of acts covering the stopping up of the highways under Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (section 247, 248 and 249), temporary road orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (section 14 and 16), highway classifications, local authority orders, cycle tracks and cattle grids.
