BRITISH SUPERBIKE FANS GIVE THINK! THE THUMBS UP

The THINK! Motorcycle Academy trailer appeared at all 12 mainland British Superbikes (BSB) rounds in 2007. Thousands of fans visited thetrailer to meet the stars of BSB and talk racing, riding and wearingthe right protective kit.

The THINK! Motorcycle Academy helps promote the Government’s road safety programme, with two key messages for riders:
•    Give your bike the skills it deserves
•    Save racing for the track

Meanwhile, local Bike Safe officers are on hand to give tutorials on how to get the most out of bikes in a safe and responsible way, and to help interested fans sign up for advanced skills and safety courses.

Outstanding support in a great year
THINK! Motorcycle Academy Manager Harley Stephens says: “It was a fantastic year for the Academy – we managed to communicate the road safety message to thousands of race fans throughout the UK. We tried to make sure the Academy was not only informative for the fans but also provided exciting features to engage the crowds. Support from Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Suzuki and Yamaha – all of whom gave us access to their flagship superbikes and top riders – made this task much easier.
“And John Reynolds has been a fantastic ambassador for us. I would like to thank him and all of the riders who gave up their time to meet the fans and promote the important THINK! messages. We’ve also had fantastic support from BikeSafe and Road Safety officers up and down the country, giving up their time and advising fans on training, riding and the law.”

Tony Partis, from series promoter DORNA, added: “The THINK! Academy has provided a wonderful focal point for fans at all of the BSB rounds. It’s promoted a very important message in an innovative and entertaining way, and it’s now firmly established as one of the main attractions at each round.”

In November, the THINK! Motorcycle Academy rounded off a great year by attending the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show at Birmingham’s NEC.
