These documents take forward the recommendations from the Health and Safety Commission and Highways Agency's reports commissioned by the Deputy Prime Minister after the crash at Great Heck, near Selby, on 28 February 2001.

"Managing the accidental obstruction of the railway by road vehicles" has been produced in response to those recommendations and sets out the steps to be taken jointly by railway infrastructure authorities and highway authorities to manage the risk of accidental incursion of road vehicles onto the railway.
