The Transport Analysis Guidance website (WebTAG) provides detailed guidance on the appraisal of transport schemes and wider advice on scoping and carrying out transport studies.

The WebTAG site (www.webtag.org.uk) has brought together and updated where necessary the following documents:

GOMMMS (3/00) - sets out advice on the new approach to appraisal (NATA) for strategic multi-modal transport studies.

GOMMMS errata (4/01) - provides revised guidance on the treatment of construction costs and the impact on public transport operators.

Applying the Multi-Modal Approach to Appraisal to Highway Schemes (The Bridging Document) (4/01) - provides advice for highway scheme appraisal under the GOMMMS framework.

GOMMMS Supplement 1 (2/02) - supplements guidance on the assessment of the impact of studies on landscape, townscape, heritage, biodiversity and the water environment.

GOMMMS Supplement 2 (4/02) - provides guidance on how the contribution of a study to the eight Public Service Agreement targets should be integrated into the appraisal process.

GOMMMS Supplement 3 (1/03) - provides guidance on how the NATA approach has been changed to reflect the Treasury's new Green Book.

Major Scheme Appraisal in Local Transport Plans: Part 1 (4/03) - provides advice on the appraisal of major public transport and highway schemes bid for as part of the Local Transport Plan (LTP) process.

Economic Impact Report (9/03) - provides guidance on the methodology required for an Economic Impact Report for transport appraisal.
