The Department for Transport has upgraded its on-line service for browsing and downloading traffic statistics. The upgraded service is available at www.dft.gov.uk/traffic-counts

This allows users to:

• browse maps showing the locations of all traffic count points on the major road network in Great Britain.
• download annual average daily flows (AADFs) and traffic figures for each count point and for each year from 2000 onwards.
• view summary traffic statistics at regional and local authority level.

This new service replaces the previous traffic statistics interactive service (“Matrix”), which had been available at www.dft.gov.uk/matrix

The Matrix service will no longer be accessible, and users will be redirected to www.dft.gov.uk/traffic-counts
