Objectives

This work sets out to:

1. develop an understanding of issues and practices in the use of internet sites for providing PTI;

2. establish a manual of good practice in internet PTI;

3. promote knowledge of internet delivery amongst transport industry leaders through the publication of reports.

Description

As part of the development of PTI 2000, the Department has been funding local authorities to establish multi-modal PTI internet journey planners. There will be a large increase in such sites, as well as an increase in the commercial sites of operators and others. There is therefore a challenge to promote consistently high standards across the transport sector. This work sets out to:

1. develop an understanding of issues and practices in the use of internet sites for providing PTI

2. establish a manual of good practice in internet PTI

3. promote knowledge of internet delivery amongst transport industry leaders through the publication of reports.
