The objective of this project is to publicise and disseminate key findings of two reports (one by Crime Concern, the other by Social Research Associates) dealing with issues for Ethnic Groups and visible Religious Minorities when using or wishing to use public transport.


This project will be conducted through a series of workshop groups (PTEs, bus operators, rail operators,) to deal with points such as information in a variety of languages, recording and analysis of incidents, reappraisal of employment policies, awareness training for drivers, complaints monitoring and solutions for ID of women wearing veils.

Summary of results

  1. The outcomes included analysis and guidance on tailoring transport provision to the needs of different ethnic and faith groups. The results were reviewed and found credible at a range of workshops and a national conference.
