Last update: 11/11/2003 15:35:05

Objectives

The traveline research programme consisted of three individual projects which address the future delivery of traveline:
Project 1: Opening Hours - to assess what the minimum future opening hours for traveline will be (the current working assumption is that 0800-2000 is too narrow),
Project 2: Existing customers and their requirements - to assess who is calling traveline, what information they are requesting and what they are supplied with.
Project 3: Extent of information provided - to assess what or if there are gaps in the information that the service currently provides.

Description

This research project will deliver reports on various aspects of traveline service delivery, with particular emphasis on the views of current customers. The Project is structured in three components. These will assess:
- the future minimum opening hours of traveline;
- existing traveline customers and their requirements;
- - and whether there are gaps from the public point of view in the information that the service currently provides.

Summary of results

  1. The research provided 10 recommendations and changes to the traveline service relevant to the effective delivery of the service for the future.
    The evidence suggests that traveline users want more from the service - for example younger users would like to access traveline via the internet or receive text messages.
