Project: Laser Upgrade

Reference: H106

Last update: 19/11/2003 11:42:34

Objectives

This research will enhance the existing LASER land-use/transport interaction model for London and the South East, in order to improve its responsiveness and modelling accuracy. It will deliver an upgraded version of the model which will be put to work almost immediately in connection with studies on the 'Orbit' study of orbital travel around London, and the South-East Regional Airports Study.

Description

This research was to enhance the LASER model, to improve its responsiveness and modelling accuracy. LASER is an interactive land use/transportation model in which the land use model determines the demand for transport and the generalised costs of transport are a major determinant in the land use model. The model was enhanced to enable it to be used in two multi-modal studies in the South-East, and for the South East Regional airports' study.
