The specific objective is to allow the rail cost interface to run in less than 1 hour. This will significantly speed up the overall run time of the NTM.
the National Transport Model (NTM), is being upgraded in an ongoing programme of work. This project forms par to this update by furhter developing the interface between the Rail Crowding Model and PASS1. The specific objective is to reduce the run time of the interface from approx. ten hours to less than one hour. A two year call off contract allows for specialist advice to be provided as reqiured on all aspects of the modelling of rail within the NTM. Version 4 of the NTM will allow more detailed and robust analysis to be undertaken with regard to planning transport policy
This prject will deliver a new piece of software that will be incorporated into version 4 of the NTM. Documentation will also be provided.
