Objectives

To provide information from both before and during the pilot on bus boarding times, and the perceptions of bus drivers, travel centre staff and passengers. To evaluate the Citizen Card scheme both in practical and politcal terms. To report on the findings Sheffield Citizen Card and Yorcard technological trial. To provide management information on the use of transport products within the Yorcard pilot. To produce a best practice report on the implementation of transport and Citizen Card smartcard schemes.

Description

This project is a trial of multi-mode "Citizen Services" smartcards and augments the core Yorcard research. It aims to provide a platform for future multi-application smartcards or Citizen Cards. The Yorcard project aims to provide an ITSO compliant smart ticketing system for public transport in West and South Yorkshire.
