Project: Usability & Accessibility Testing

Reference: R118 MR6.2 & MR6.3

Last update: 16/02/2005 15:30:17

Objective is to ensure each new release of the Transport Direct portal is user-friendly.

Usability testing takes volunteers through the process of using the actual site, noting any issues that come to light during that process. Accessibility testing follows a similar process to ensure the site can be used by people with various kinds of disability and that the site conforms to the relevant legislation.

Summary of results

  1. The tests verified that the site was sufficiently accessible to publicly launch in autumn 2004. They also highlighted where significant work on the journey plan output pages was required to improve the usability of these pages.
