Objectives

The main objective for this research to understand why older people give up driving, the personal and societal implications and costs and to explore ways of ameliorating and supporting older people in this process.

Description

To improve the personal mobility of older people by the following desired outcomes.

 Report on the evidence on reasons, implications and costs
 Recommendations on possible interventions that help prolong safe driving in old age
 Examination of available public transport options
 Draft advice and guidance for older people on improving mobility in old age.
