Objectives

The main objective for this research to identify potentially transferable lessons for the evaluation of road schemes from elsewhere; to critically review trunk road scheme evaluation activities in England to value of widening evaluation; and if possible, to develop detailed proposals for potential enhancements to trunk road scheme evaluations.

Description

To examine whether ex post evaluation of trunk road schemes can be improved in order to provide a better evidence base that informs and guides future policy.

Evidence is needed on how current evaluation is done and how it might be improved.
