The objective of this research is to provide evidence on the basis of which Ministers can determine to what extent the Code of Practice has succeeded in improving standards of access and service for disabled people in the aviation industry.
The project will initially publish a Code of Practice on access to air travel for disabled people. Against that Code it will then benchmark provision for disabled people at travel agents, airport and on airlines.
This will be followed by a repeat exercise two years later to monitor how far UK industry has moved towards meeting the best practice set out in the Guidance.
