The co-ordinator team will support the trailblazer sites in developing and implementing their schemes. They will support the evaluation process of trailblazers and provide cross-site comparison of results and contribute to the dissemination of the information developed by the initiative. They will also facilitate networking and exchange of information and develop links with national and local Government and other interested bodies.
The overall purpose of the co-ordination role is to promote and support the implementation of Clear Zones concepts and technologies, that is to promote "a lively and accessible urban centre where traffic congestion, pollution, noise and other aspects of negative aspects of mobility are eliminated or limited through the implementation of a package of transport related measures using innovated techniques".
The co-ordination team will provide day-to day management and co-ordination, which will be needed to run the initiative, as well as support to the 'trailblazer' sites. They will maintain a Clear Zones office, a database of Clear Zones contacts and a secretariat for the Clear Zones steering group. They will also manage and report on the activities of the initiative and liase with the DTLR officer.
The co-ordinating team will provide a final report setting out achievement and results across the 9 trailblazer sites and recommendations for the future development of Clear Zones and guidance for the Local Transport Plan (LTP) process.
