The objective of the Communications Directorate is to provide the Secretary of State, his ministerial team and policy officials with strategic communications support that brings together, media handling, paid publicity, internal communications, speeches, visits, communicating with stake holders and cross-Government working to produce a highly focussed and effective strategy. Research is undertaken to support this role.
THINK! is the Department for Transport's road safety publicity brand that covers many campaign areas, including child and teen road safety, Drink Drive, Speed, Seatbelts, Fatigue, Mobiles, Drug Drive, Driving for Work and Motorbikes. THINK! research is undertaken for a variety of reasons including; To measure how well our campaigns are performing, To gain a better understanding of what type of communications will be most effective, To obtain strategic insight into how to effect behavioural change through communications.
