The Department has produced a guidance document to help organisations deliver the new security measures. It is not intended to be a prescriptive document and organisations are free to consider other ways of meeting the requirements of the regulations.
The movement of all civil nuclear material, as defined by the Nuclear Industries Security Regulations 2003 (NISR), is not covered by the CDG security regulations and this associated guidance. The transport of such material is regulated by the Office for Civil Nuclear Security (OCNS) in accordance with the NISR.
The guidance document (PDF – 264 KB) should give you most if not all of the information you need to implement security into your operation.
It was a developed by representatives from the industry, government officials and Police and agreed by our Industry Advisory Group.
