A study into an increase in the permitted length of articulated lorries to 18.75 metres while maintaining all other regulations, including the 44 tonne gross vehicle weight limit. This would allow an increase to the cubic volume of loads carried by articulated lorries and the possible introduction of safer aerodynamic fronts. The added capacity could be beneficial to those carrying lighter goods or those packed at low densities, but not to those shipping heavier bulk goods.
