These statistics are produced by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA), which administers the driving test system in Great Britain.
Unlike most other Department for Transport (DfT) statistics, driving test statistics are compiled and published by staff in the DSA using data from the agency’s operational systems. Statisticians in the central Department are not involved in their production and, as such, these statistics are not directly overseen by the DfT Head of Profession.
We are exploring options to regularise these arrangements for the future and would welcome the views of current or prospective users of driving test statistics. Please direct any comments to vehicles.stats@dft.gsi.gov.uk.
