Summary
The purpose of the proposal is to improve access to Elkesley across the A1 trunk road by the provision of a bridge and to improve the trunk road itself, thus allowing the removal of a 50 mph speed limit on the A1 at Elkesley. The scheme extends over a distance of some 2 kilometres along the A1, and associated new side roads and slip roads are proposed.
