Maritime

Maritime statistics cover a wide range of subjects, including passenger and freight traffic at UK ports, freight traffic on UK inland waters, and ships in the UK registered and UK owned fleets and in the world fleet. Information is also available on the number of UK seafarers, and port related employment in the UK.

Maritime Statistics Advisory Group
This group was established in October 2007. View the link above for further details and for a link to the report of the 2007 National Statistics Quality Review of Maritime Statistics.

From 11 June 2009, DfT will publish provisional port freight statistics on a quarterly basis. See "Ports" link below.

The 2009 edition of the Maritime Statistics Compendium will be published on 23 September 2010. From this year, it will be a web-only publication. See "Maritime Statistics Compendium" link below.
