Focus on freight: 2003 edition
Focus on Freight is designed to bring together information about the freight and logistics industry in Great Britain and highlight some of the key issues. It presents an overview and analysis of trends (in most cases) over the ten years to 2001, with a longer perspective for some series where this is helpful. The first edition of Focus on Freight was published in August 1998. As well as updating much of the data published then, this second edition has been revised and restructured to include much new information.
The Department for Transport's main statistical reference volume is Transport Statistics Great Britain.
The 'Focus' series are occasional publications produced to take an in-depth look at particular areas of transport - those recently published include 'Focus on Personal Travel: 2001 Edition and Focus on Ports: 2000 Edition'. More detailed information is also published in a series of regular bulletins - details of all publications are on this website.
In addition to the published information, a wealth of unpublished material is available on request, as is a service (subject to the availability of resources and confidentiality constraints) providing customised analyses for clients. Details of these services can be obtained from our general enquiries e-mail address: publicationgeneral.enq@dft.gov.uk.
