Freight
The Road Goods Vehicles travelling to mainland Europe bulletin was suspended in August 2007, following the availability of new sources of data which raised questions about the robustness of previous published estimates. A more thorough review of the figures was carried out and this review resulted in revisions to the figures back to 2004; these are contained in the bulletin published on 22 May 2008. The revised estimates are considered to be more robust since they are based on more complete information, comparison with other sources and further discussion with operators.
Estimates for quarters 1 and 2 of 2008 are scheduled for release on 28 August 2008.
We shall also be consulting stakeholders, in due course, about the continued need for in-year estimates for this series.
