Transport personnel review
The Secretary of State announced on 17 December 2007 that the Government commissioned an independent review of how personnel security is delivered across the transport sector, including through background and identity checks and related measures. A copy of the Written Parliamentary Statement that was laid in the Houses of Parliament can be accessed via the link opposite.
The review will be conducted by a team led by Stephen Boys Smith. To undertake this effectively, it is important that the views of key transport stakeholders are sought and taken into consideration in the analysis of the issues and in any emerging findings or recommendations.
