UK Transport Research Centre
The Department for Transport (DfT) in partnership with the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Scottish Government are planning to establish a new academically based independent Transport Research Centre. Subject to successful negotiation and final approvals, the Centre is expected to be launched in early 2008
The new Transport Research Centre will act as a multi-disciplinary centre of excellence for independent, high quality, innovative, strategic research, focused on enhancing the evidence base needed to inform the key transport policy issues facing the UK over the next decade and beyond.
