DVD on work related road safety. This project will produce 1,500 copies of a 10 minute DVD on work-related road safety for fleet drivers of all types. The DVD will be free of charge and made widely available.

Teacher Resources Road Safety Week. This project will produce resources for Road Safety Week 2005 which will be held from 7-13 November. The theme this year is "Watch Out There's a Kid About".

Child Safety Week 2005. The theme for Child Safety Week 2005 is "Not every accident is a lucky escape". Issues highlighted during the week will include: the link between drivers' speed and child fatalities, especially in built-up areas where children play; in-car safety, including checks of child car seats and the use of booster seats/cushions by children up to age 11; road safety education for child pedestrians and child cyclists.

Common Motorcycle crashes and how to avoid them. This project will produce a well illustrated, colourful leaflet to provide information to motorcyclists of the top five types of serious motorcycle crashes and how to avoid them. The top five scenarios that will be described are: failure to negotiate a left hand bend on a rural road; failure to negotiate a right hand bend on a rural road; collision at Junction; collision while overtaking; and loss of control going straight ahead.

Driving for Work: Drink and Drugs Policy. This project will produce advice for employers on developing and implementing a policy on drink and drugs for staff who drive or ride for work purposes. The resource would cover alcohol, over-the-counter and prescribed medicines and illegal drugs. It will include a sample policy that would be suitable to be adopted as written or tailored to particular needs. The resource would help employers to develop and introduce policies to prevent or reduce the likelihood of their staff driving for work while impaired and to deal with any such instances that occur.

Driving for Work: Using Own Vehicles. This project will produce advice, including a sample policy, for employers on developing and implementing a policy on key safety issues for staff who drive their own vehicles for work purposes. The sample policy could be adopted as written or tailored to particular needs.

Road Safety in Citizenship: A Key Stage 4 Resource: Additional Topics. This project will produce additional Student Topics and accompanying Teacher's Notes for the "Road Safety in Citizenship CD: A Key Stage 4 Resource". The new topics will be: Motorcycling; Starting Work/Work Experience; and Speed Crashes.

Website for parents of learner drivers. This project will create and run an easily accessible website aimed at parents who have adult children who are learning to drive or ride.

"I'll be Des" The project will produce "I'll be Des" campaign materials for Road Safety Officer's and others.

United Multi Cultural Centre

Interactive CD ROM in 4 foreign languages. This project will produce a CD ROM aimed at drivers whose first language is not English on the key themes that drivers must be aware of to ensure that they drive safely/legally.
