Approved tourist symbol drawings
Working drawings available as PDF files now include a group headed "Approved tourist symbol drawings (AT series)". The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002, in Schedule 16, items 24 and 33, make reference to "approved symbols". These are tourist attraction symbols which from time to time are introduced by the Department and can be used without special authorisation.
Where a non-prescribed symbol is authorised for a specific attraction it does not necessarily become an approved symbol. Those symbols that are approved will be shown on working drawings prefixed by "AT" and made available on this website.
