List of Current Circulars 'Roads'

For many years the DfT's predecessors used the Circulars 'Roads' series to provide advice and guidance on roads and traffic matters to local authorities. The Department no longer issues new circulars in this series. Advice on roads and traffic matters is now issued in various forms according to the nature of the advice and the audience, for example:

This section provides a list of all individual circulars from the 'Roads' series that are still current, in whole or in part. Any circulars in the 'Roads' series not listed are hereby cancelled.

In future, when one of these circulars is cancelled, it will be removed from the web site. We will update this publication on the web site to give the date of the cancellation and a link to any advice that replaces the cancelled circular.

Cancelled circulars will be kept in a paper archive held centrally by the Highways Agency. Anybody wanting access to this archive should contact the Agency on either direct line 020 8921 44 12 or via the HA information line 08457 50 40 30.
