- CATCH, www.cleanaccessibletransport.com
The way in which we travel has the potential to protect and improve personal health enormously. Through a series of innovative transport measures, CATCH aims to make the air we breathe cleaner and our day to day journeys more physically active and enjoyable.
CATCH stands for Clean Accessible Transport for Community Health and is a demonstration project supported by the European Commission through the LIFE-Environment Programme. CATCH is largely based in Liverpool - a UK city which is undergoing radical structural change linked to economic regeneration. The project is also transferring knowledge and experience to Accession Countries and to Southern Europe through the participation of partners from Romania (the city of Suceava) and Italy (CTP Napoli, working with the town of Potenza).
CATCH started in 2002 and will run for 3 years until 2005, being co-ordinated by Merseytravel and managed on their behalf by Transport & Travel Research Ltd.
